help & faq

Quick answers about our panjiri and ladoos, ordering and delivery. Anything else, write to hello@panjras.com.

What is panjiri?

Panjiri is a golden, nutty crumble from North India, made by slowly roasting wholemeal wheat, nuts, edible gum and spices in ghee. It has long been part of the postpartum confinement tradition, made for new mothers after a birth, and many families enjoy it all year.

How did PanjRas start?

During COVID, some of Tanu Chawla’s friends in Singapore became new mothers while their own parents were far away in India. Tanu began making panjiri for them, adapting the North Indian recipe with less sugar, wholemeal wheat and more almond flour, and the ladoos followed. That jar of panjiri became PanjRas.

Which ladoos do you make?

Six: Sesame Peanut, Sesame Peanut Almond, Dates and Nuts, Multigrain Almond Gondh, Ragi Gondh and Besan. Each comes in a small jar of 8, a medium jar of 15 or a large jar of 20, and you can put jars of different flavours in one order.

Is there a minimum order?

No, one jar is enough. Ladoos come in jars of 8, 15 or 20, and Traditional Panjiri in 500 g and 1 kg jars.

Who is it for?

Our Traditional Panjiri is made for new mothers in the weeks after a birth, and children and grandparents enjoy it too. Our ladoos are for every age; the soft Sesame Peanut Almond is the one we suggest for children. PanjRas is food, not medicine: if you are pregnant, nursing or managing a health condition, please check your diet with your doctor or midwife.

Is panjiri only for new mothers?

No. Panjiri began as food for new mothers after a birth, but it is just as good for a growing child, a grandparent, a busy morning or an afternoon when your energy runs low. Many people simply enjoy a spoonful with warm milk.

Which allergens are in your products?

Our kitchen uses wheat (gluten), milk (ghee), peanuts, sesame and tree nuts, so any product may contain traces of them. Each product page lists the main ingredients, with allergens shown in orange. If you have a severe allergy, write to us before you order.

How should I store it, and how long does it keep?

Keep ladoos and panjiri in a closed container in the fridge, use a clean, dry spoon, and eat them within about a month.

Where do you deliver?

Online orders are delivered within Singapore. Delivery options and fees are shown at checkout before you pay. For orders to other countries, write to us at hello@panjras.com.

How do I pay?

Checkout is handled by Stripe, a payment provider. You can pay by card or PayNow. PanjRas never sees or stores your card number.

How does the yearly plan work?

Choose Yearly plan on the Traditional Panjiri page. We deliver once every 2 months for a year, 6 deliveries in all, and every jar is 10% off. The plan is paid by card: your card is charged before each delivery, and the plan ends by itself after the last one. To change your size or address, write to hello@panjras.com.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Write to us as soon as possible at hello@panjras.com with your order number. If your order has not been packed yet, we can change or cancel it.

Do you make gift boxes?

Yes. The shop has ready-made gift boxes, or you can build your own from 2 to 6 jars. To send one, or any order, to someone else, choose Send as a gift in your cart and add their name, phone, address and your message: we deliver it to them in Singapore.
